Understanding Bite Windows

Have you ever wondered why fish start or stop biting? Over the past decade of so, anglers have become much better at finding fish, understand fish movements, using sonar, reading weather and presentation. But we are still puzzled by why fish start and stop biting when they do. These periods of fish activity are call “bite windows”; a period, or “window” of time that fish are active and anglers have a better chance at catching fish.

This month Captain Lance looks at what bite windows are, how they change with time of year, weather, water conditions and more. Understanding bite windows will help anglers be in the right place at the right time more often, and will lead to increased catches!
